Federal grand jury in Florida , United States , decided in favor of
the BlackBerry in a lawsuit that said the company violated three patents
owned semiconductor company NXP origin Eindhoven , Netherlands , Monday
( 04/08/2014 ) .
In April 2012 ago, the BlackBerry , then still called Research In Motion ( RIM ) was sued by NXP alleging that BlackBerry phones and tablets infringe a design patent , data transmission , and other features .
At first BlackBerry NXP sued over six patents , but then lowered the total to three patents . NXP feel aggrieved for violations committed by the BlackBerry .
NXP sues BlackBerry effort was not granted by the jury for deliberation before decision , they declared for the BlackBerry .
As quoted by Reuters , said NXP disappointment and " trying to make an appeal " .
